Shades, 1st album re-remastered
Tabitha Records

We are very excited to tell you that the Shades Rockabilly studio album recorded more than thirty years ago has been remastered and will be available once more by download from 29 February 2012.

This album was recorded at Decibel Studios in London over a two day session in 7th & 8th January 1978 and later that year the 7” single “Leroy” TAB 4 was released in the UK by Tabitha Records and that track along with the album is now re-released on download only.

It was released on the Tabitha Records label in the Benelux and on the Trova label in Spain in 1979 and two singles, “Sunglasses after dark” and “Hello Josephine” were taken for the album in Spain, which resulted in two consecutive top ten hits plus a chart album and as a result the band travelled to Spain to appear on a number of television and radio shows.

Shades or "Rockin' Shades" as they were also known appeared on a number of television shows in the UK including a show with Jack Good and in 1979 they released a single "Rock 'n' Roll is good for the soul" through Pye Records with the Alan Ross composition “Grizzly bear boogie” on the “B” side.

Now thirty plus years later the remastered album is available once more and their album including their first single "Leroy" is re-released by Tabitha Records on 29 February 2012.

The album was produced by Graham Sclater and much of it was recorded live with a minimum of overdubs to replicate their live sound.

Shades are:
