Hiya Cats! Now, hold on tight 'cause you're in for a treat here!
"There was a time when a man was still a man and the girls were worth fighting for. Back then you paid an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. Dare to follow me for a while and hear about the odd occurrences in a town named Rockville..."
The above are the first words of the awesome 36-page booklet that comes with the new CD of "Lou Cifer and the Hellions". Now, if this doesn't give you the goose bumps you'd better go to the doctor, folks.
Hellskitchen Records didn't spare on expenses, you'll get an incredible 36-page booklet with your CD. Inside you will find a comic-type story and next to each drawing there's the lyrics of a song having to do either with what the characters say or with a 50s-style advertisement that sometimes replaces the corresponding comic page.
Lou Cifer and his Hellions have done an impeccable job, as they always do. Top-notch, super-duper, killer-diller 100% pure Teddyboy Rock 'n' Roll. If you've listened to some, or all, of their previous stuff (all of it compiled on their first CD, "The Rockville Incidents"), you know what I mean.
As usual, all the tracks are self-penned and written by Lou Cifer himself except, "Dare Devils" which was written by Bill Zebop, the Bassman. I'm unable to recommend any favourite tracks since all of 'em are equally terrific. However, "Johnny T. Is A Hoodlum" and "I Want My Woman Back" are two of my preferred ones.
Well, I can't tell you enough times how great this is, you have to listen to it yourselves. If you are a Teddy Boy like me, take a little money, run to your nearest recordshop and grab one before it's sold out. You won't regret it, believe me.
