They decided to form a band and soon enrolled Laurent’s buddy Franek (of Hollister, The Rhythm Sinners) to play the upright bass A couple months later, they were joined by Dany (ex-Wangs) on drums. They rehearsed every week and soon felt ready to play in front of an audience. Their first gig took place at the Charle’s Bar on february 20th where they went down very well.
On March 7 they recorded a few songs for a demo tape at the Space Mobile Studio (owned by Franck), using vintage microphone, amplifier and recorder. They are playing in many places like the legendary Mule Club, Oscar Wilde Pub. After one gig Jerry of Continental Restyling say: "The Rock-A-Tones are probably the wildest band in France". In January 2000 they recorded 4 song for an EP titled "Space Mobile Studio Recordings". Two of the 4 tracks on the EP are Rock-A-Tones orginals.
