Iain 'Houndog' Terry, 2002
Iain "Houndog" Terry (vocals/guitar) played in his first band in 1964, and then in various roc 'n' roll bands throughout the 60's. Iain was a co-founding member of Matchbox in 1973 along with Fred Poke, Jimmy Redhead and Wiffle Smith. They released their first single for the Dawn Label in 1975 entitled "Rock 'n' Roll Band". Iain left Matchbox in 1976 and joined Rock Island Line; he toured Europe for two years with this line-up backing Screaming Lord Sutch (LP/CD Murder in the Graveyard), Iain formed The Spys and Line Records released the LP "Spy's" in Germany. He was a session musician working for the BBC with the producer Phil Bailey. He also recorded for the Elvis Show in London. Iain Terry made his first solo recording "Chicken Shack Shuffle" which is currently on re-release. Over the years, Iain has had much of his work released on CD and vinyl. He claims a career highlight of having had the privilege of backing Muddy Waters.
Dave Dix (vocals/bass) was offered his first professional job by the king of "Blue Suede Shoes", Carl Perkins. Carl was in Liverpool and needed a saxophonist. Dave's name was put forward as a budding rock 'n' roll tenor player and the rest as the say, "is history". His new found occupation was to move him to Essex, much closer to the rock 'n' roll and R&B action. He soon joined forces with the legendary rock personality and politician, Screaming Lord Sutch. His many years of touring and recording with Sutch were interspersed with appearances alongside such greats as Tommy Bruce, Don Lang, Bill Haley's Comets, Chas & Dave and Johnny Paris of Johnny & The Hurricanes. Dave is recognised as one of the leading exponents of the bass guitar and sax on the British and overseas rock 'n' roll/jive circuit.
Jamey Royce (drums/vocals) is an experienced drummer on the British swing/jive circuit. Since first picking up the sticks at the age of nine, Jamey has worked with an eclectic range of performers including The Stingrays, The Knight Riders, The Roy Orbison Tribute Band and Greggi G (Matchbox).
