Flea Bops, The paint off your walls
The Flea Bops

Flea Bops bang out strictly traditional rockabilly with a raw edge and a lot of fun. This foursome easily blends their authentically-styled originals with the classics and obscurities of rockabilly wildmen such as Johnny Burnette, Joe Clay, Carl Perkins, Johnny Horton, Johnny Cash, and many other not-so-household names. Don't miss this jumpy quartet! Flea Bops have been together since 1992 and have worked very hard over the years to identify and refine their own sound. Their first long-awaited release is a testament of their determination to do things their own way and to wait until the timing was right. This Flea Bops 45 rpm release is the third Vinylux release. The first two were the well known 'Go Cat Go' 45 and CD. So, Vinylux maybe a small label, but their releases are absolutely great. Heck, we all got 'Go Cat Go' in our favorite top 10, right? The two songs on the Flea's single are Ronnie Joyner's self penned 'Good Time Woman' backed with Willie Dixon's 'I'm Ready'. In their own words: "This is rockabilly - raw and edgy, just the way we like it! It'll knock the paint off your walls!"

The Washington Post wrote: "The Flea Bops, they had a guy playing snare drum with brushes. A woman on stand-up double bass. A guitarist with the sweetest '54 Gretsch you'd ever seen or heard. The sound was spare, tight, authentic, joyful." (Dec. 9, 1996)

The Flea Bops are:
Ronnie Joyner - Vocals, Acoustic Guitar
Preston LeBeau - Electric Guitar
Wendy LeBeau - Vocals, Acoustic Bass
Lance LeBeau - Drums

Vinylux Records was started with the intention of releasing great traditional music for years to come. Their first two releases (both from 'Go Cat Go') have been very well received and continue to sell well. 'Let's Hear It Once Again for... Go Cat Go' sold very well, but sadly did not have the benefit of a touring band to promote it, due to the sad death of Darren Spears It's the company's hope that with the success of these releases, people will continue to associate the Vinylux name with the kind of traditional music they want to hear.
